Fire Ball System
A Fire Ball System, also known as a fire extinguisher ball or simply a fireball, is an innovative fire suppression device designed for rapid and automatic fire extinguishing. It is ball-shaped, lightweight (usually 1.3–1.5 kg), and intended to be either thrown into or placed near fire-prone areas, making it suitable for use by anyone—including those with no training, such as children or elderly individuals.
How it works
- The fireball is filled with dry chemical extinguishing powder, often mono ammonium phosphate or specialized ABC powder, effective against multiple fire classes (A: solid combustibles, B: flammable liquids, C: gases, and electrical fires).
- It features a heat-sensitive outer shell or a fuse mechanism that triggers activation.
- When exposed to flames or high heat (typically 80–90°C), the ball bursts within 3–10 seconds, dispersing the extinguishing powder in all directions over a radius of about 1.3 meters, effectively suppressing the flames.
- Some models also emit a loud warning sound (up to 140 dB) to alert people nearby.
Advantages
- Ease of use: No training required. It can be thrown, rolled, or even mounted in fire-prone areas for automatic activation.
- Fast response: Activates within seconds of contact with fire, unlike conventional extinguishers that require manual operation.
- No maintenance: Typically maintenance-free for up to 5 years, resulting in lower long-term costs.
- Safety: The user does not need to approach or operate close to the fire, minimizing risk.
- Versatility: Suitable for most common fire sources, including electrical, liquid, gas, and solid combustibles.
Applications
- Residential homes
- Offices and commercial spaces
- Industrial environments
- Automobiles and kitchens
- Electrical panels and high-risk zones
