Fire Hose Reel Systems
A Fire Hose Reel System is a fixed fire protection installation designed to provide a controlled and accessible supply of water for manual firefighting, particularly suited for large, high-risk environments like schools, hotels, factories, and other sizable buildings. These systems typically consist of the following key components:
Key Components
- Hose reel drum: which can be fixed, swinging, recessed, or concealed
- Hose lengths: usually between 15–36 meters, with common diameters of 19mm or 25mm.
- Control nozzle: at the end of the hose, allowing for adjustment of water direction and flow.
- Ball valve shut-off device: to regulate water supply.
- Mounting bracket bracket and, frequently, a hose reel cabinet for protection and accessibility.
- Water supply: connected to the building’s plumbing or a dedicated fire water tank.
